NEW ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF THE ROMAN MISSAL
A new translation of all of the prayers and the parts of the people is being
undertaken by the Vatican. It will be a direct and literal translation from
the Latin texts. Almost everything we pray in the Liturgy will be changed.
Please go to: usccb.org/romanmissal/examples.shtml
to see examples of the
new prayers and the peoples' parts of the Liturgy. Bishop Donald W.
Trautman, S.T.D, S.S.L of the Diocese of Erie is a strong opponent of this
new translation.
Fr. Michael G. Ryan, pastor of St. James Cathedral in Seattle, Washington
since 1988, has begun a grass roots movement to wait on the new translation
until more study and consultation can be done. Please go to:
whatifwejustsaidwait.org/
and read the comments and sign the petition to
wait. Thank you.
